Our client, a manufacturer of private label children’s apparel located in New York City. We are seeking a knowledgeable Production Coordinator to join our fast-paced team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65,000 – $70,000
Position Overview:
The Production Coordinator is a full-time position that plays an important role to ensure fabric mills, trim suppliers, and garment factories have all the raw material approvals they need to start production on time. The Production Coordinator role will also monitor all work-in-progress and maintain detailed tracking records to keep all supply chain teams informed. Entry Level to 6 years work experience in fashion, apparel, or manufacturing industry, children’s wear experience a PLUS. This role will be a roll up your sleeves, experienced in production who is a quick learner who requires minimal training and can handle a fast pace environment
Responsibilities of the Production Coordinator:
- Serve as point of contact for all oversea factories for tracking garment samples, fabric testing, design requests, and deliveries
- Collaborate with various cross functional team for getting trim and samples approval in timely manner
- Reviewed fabric POs and ensure vendors placed with correct information
- Follow up with fabric mill for fabric delivery and tracking delivery status
- Issue POs to vendors with pertaining information (styles, SKUs, Fabrication, Fabric Performance, Prices)
- Tracking trim approval status, organize and maintain all work in progress calendar for each season
- Order and approve labels, thoroughly checking for accuracy in relating styles before distributing to suppliers
- Follow up with internal compliance team to ensure timely completion of in-house, CPSC, CTL testing
- Prepare LC (line of credit) applications and review LC discrepancy reports
- Weekly meeting with other teams to review outstanding issues & challenges (quality concerns, sampling issues, raw material and/or garment delays)
- Discuss and review any production concerns with production managers
Qualifications for the Production Coordinator:
- Strong organization skills and communication skills
- MUST be able to effectively multi-task
- Proficient in excel & word
- Knowledge in Simparel & PLM is a plus
- Must be detail orientated and a fast learner willing to learn new things and procedures
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is required
