Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65,000 – $85,000

Position Overview:

The Production Planner will contribute to developing and maintaining a daily production plan consistent with plant capacity and resources by utilizing the best fit criteria for efficiency and cost savings to meet customer demand. The Production Planner ensure all forward demands are being met and take appropriate action to add, move or cancel production to minimize working capital.

Responsibilities of the Production Planner:

  • Accurate and timely day to day scheduling and prioritization of process orders in response to production plans and demand plans as well as changing business needs
  • Completion of production schedules that maximize capacity, minimize stocking levels, and improve OEE while minimizing downtime throughout all production resources
  • Using SAP MRP, continually review proposed output and make decisions on the viability of turning planned order requirements into firm process orders
  • Identify and action reworking of material to continually minimize blocked and aging stock with input from Quality
  • Ability to problem-solve scheduling issues to reliably and accurately meet established KPIs
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints
  • Effectively communicate the production schedule and any issues arising from it to production, procurement, customer service, sales, and manager
  • Facilitate daily production meetings providing key scheduling information to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process and to optimize capacity
  • Provide feedback into the maintenance scheduling process to prioritize maintenance efforts and to minimize customer delays due to maintenance downtime

Qualifications for the Production Planner:

  • Individual must have good communication skills, work well in a team, have excellent planning and organization skills, good work accuracy and have excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to schedule multiple activities with competing priorities
  • 3+ years SAP experience in production planning modules
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations and schedules, chemical industry preferred
  • Engineering or production management experience a plus
  • Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or related field is highly preferred
