Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75,000 – $90,000 DOE
Position Overview:
The Production Planner will be reporting directly to the Planning Manager. The Production Planner is tasked with ensuring seamless and efficient manufacturing operations in the Rockland County area. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing production schedules, monitoring inventory, and coordinating resources to meet production needs. The role demands close collaboration with procurement, production, and logistics departments to align manufacturing goals with overall company objectives.
Responsibilities of the Production Planner:
- Release and execute work orders, including Bulks, Bases, WIPs, and Finished Goods
- Communicate production plans to relevant departments and management
- Maintain working dates, quantities, and statuses in SAP
- Regularly review MRP run (Alert Monitor) and manage orders to minimize inventory obsolescence
- Maintain assigned Planning Boards daily
- Follow Operating Work Instructions for Planning, as per the Planning Manager
- Finalize the Production Plan and reflect it on the MPSA for DDS review
- Review Monthly RCCP for assigned work centers to ensure Supply Chain support
- Monitor and assign customer service priorities based on needs and production capacity
- Perform root cause analyses on key metrics, including Customer Service Level, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions, and Master Schedule Stability
- Regularly interact with manufacturing personnel to balance demand and customer service commitments
- Identify MPSA outages and update the team weekly and monthly during Supply Chain reviews
- Participate in meetings and stay informed on Manufacturing, Planning, New Product introductions, Line Fill Rates, Metrics, and other Supply Chain issues
Qualifications for the Production Planner:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing shop floor planning
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field is required
