Our client is an established fashion retailer is seeking a Purchase Order Specialist to join their team. This company offers a wide range of high quality products across various categories including Men’s, Women’s, children’s and accessories.

Position Overview:

This role is an administrative function that supports the Merchandising Division by producing/organizing purchase orders and reports. Supports the purchase order cycle (writing orders, order edits, vendor follow up, etc.) This position will be dedicated to a specific business, supporting multiple merchants. Emphasis on analyzing/editing spreadsheets and purchase orders. Strong emphasis on being experienced in excel, comfortable doing Vlookups and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities of the Purchase Order Specialist:

  • Responsible for purchase order entry and updates (including re-orders and “close outs”)
  • Receive order information from merchants and enter into PO system in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Produce an ongoing set of weekly reports (e.g. On Order Report, Item Sales Report, Sales Recaps) as well as ad hoc business reports as directed by Merchants; responsible for formatting
  • Responsible for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) maintenance
  • Add/delete SKU’s as needed, as directed by Buying team
  • Keep track of and communicate status of upcoming PO’s
  • Work closely with Buyers and Asst. Buyers to gain and maintain understanding of specified business area via frequent touch bases, including key vendors, UDA’s, trends, preferred report formats, etc.

Qualifications for the Purchase Order Specialist:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite Skills, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Must be a team player, exhibiting good communication skills and flexibility
  • Strong organizational, time management & prioritization skills are a priority

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED certification and some college coursework is required
