Our client, a food processing company is looking to hire a QA & Food Safety Manager.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $65K – $70K

Position Overview: Our client is looking for a QA & Food Safety Manager to join the team as a leader to the organization and oversee quality systems development, food safety, R & D, and plant cleanliness.

Responsibilities of the QA & Food Safety Manager:

  • Oversee & guarantee company’s quality standards in packaging, presentation, performance and taste – by properly following GMPs and SQF Practices to certify food safety and quality. This includes the areas of hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness
  • Coordinate customer complaints as they may relate to product improvements and plant-related quality issues and address customer concerns
  • Create a production program where finished product and critical control points are monitored & results are communicated to Management & Production Staff
  • Manage QC Technicians for proper conduct
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve the BRC & FDA programs
  • Implement and manage the HACCP, USDA & FDA programs and serve as the main contact with USDA, oversee audits, & address issues accordingly
  • Develop a system for product label development and approve all product labeling
  • Lead technological improvements for the production system and Research and Development Projects
  • Foster a safe, clean, productive, and positive work environment
  • Train staff on job responsibilities, use of material, tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Upkeep customer database per respective customer needs (i.e. documentation, artwork, risk assessments, allergen programs and all QA information)

Qualifications for the QA & Food Safety Manager:

  • MUST have SQF certification experience—ideal candidates will have BRC
  • MUST have experience with either FDA or USDA-regulated environment

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, particularly in Food Science or similar
