Our client is an American-based consumer goods company looking to add a QC Chemist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$50k – $65k Depending on relevant, recent industry experience

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a QC Chemist to join their Quality Control team. This QC Chemist will be responsible for performing chemical and physical testing on raw materials, in process, and finished product samples to ensure quality and safety of consumers. The QC Chemist will test samples for the company’s entire product portfolio making this an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a wide variety of products.

Responsibilities of the QC Chemist:

  • Under minimal supervision, perform/review analytical testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products for product approval and releases
  • Perform physical and chemical testing in accordance with standard procedures, utilizing wet-chemistry and basic instrumental techniques
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and concise laboratory notebooks and records
  • Work as a member of the Laboratory team to complete all required tasks in a timely manner
  • Understand and precisely follows Standard Operating Procedures
  • Provide support to the Operations personnel with analytical equipment and testing procedures
  • Operate and Perform basic troubleshooting on analytical instruments (GC and FTIR)
  • Responsible for daily/monthly instrument calibrations to ensure all instruments are working properly
  • Participate in Out of Specification (OOS) investigations to collect the necessary samples and information to complete Laboratory Investigation Reports (LIR)

Qualifications of the QC Chemist:

  • 2 years of wet chemistry lab experience
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments such as GC and FTIR
  • Understands and applies basic laboratory safety instructions, reagent handling precautions, and disposal of chemical waste according to local environmental regulations

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
