Our client is an American based pharmaceutical company with a fast paced manufacturing site and they are seeking a QC Chemistry Lab Trainer to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80,000 – $95,000
Position Overview:
Our client is looking for energetic candidates to join their team as a QC Chemistry Lab Trainer to develop, execute, evaluate, and evolve the QC Lab’s GMP training. This QC Chemistry Lab Trainer will need to have a strong Analytical Chemistry background but looking to transition to a role off the lab bench. Ideal candidates will have experience training others in addition to being well-versed in analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, MS, UV Vis, and FTIR.
Responsibilities of the QC Chemistry Lab Trainer:
- Builds upon the existing training program to greatly expand and deepen the training protocol for incoming as well as existing Analytical Chemists
- Create a curriculum for training considering strategies and tactics that are likely to be successful for the most individuals
- Develop ways to measure success and growth in the training program like milestones, KPIs, etc.
- Conduct hands on GMP and analytical training, performing the testing protocol in front of staff
- Assists with audits and work cross functionally when it comes to GMP in the QC Lab
- Updates or creates training materials that can be used digitally as well as SOPs and process instructions
- Updates training protocol based on changes within industry so must stay up to date on market trends and changes
- Oversee the onboarding of QC Lab staff and evaluates staff on technical performance and methodology
- Seek out areas for improvement or expansion of the GMP training program
- Provide detailed and professional reports and assist with related investigations as needed
Qualifications for the QC Chemistry Lab Trainer:
- Needs significant experience as an analytical chemist in a GMP lab
- 4+ years in a fast paced, highly regulated quality control environment
- The ability to work with people of multiple backgrounds and education levels to ensure consistency and compliance in training methods
- Supervisor, management, or leadership experience highly preferred
- Experience training others in or outside the QC Lab is highly preferred
- Experience with audits and investigations in a GMP setting is preferred
- Experience training others in analytical chemistry testing or related
- Strong, clear communication skills with an organized mentality
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related is required
- Master’s or graduate level work is preferred
