Our client, a leading food company, that prides itself on sourcing the best ingredients, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift) to be a key contributor to their quality team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$21/hr – $24/hr Depending on level of experience

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift) is responsible for monitoring and maintaining safety throughout production to ensure product quality standards are met. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to compliance regulations.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift):

  • Investigate and resolve non-conformances and create corrective and preventative actions.
  • Review and organize batch records and certificates of analysis as needed.
  • Conduct audits and managed inventory of ingredients, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Perform regular quality checks, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to maintain high standards.
  • Collect, weigh, and test products from the production line.
  • Adhere to sanitation guidelines, GMPs, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to monitor underperforming lines.
  • Maintain safety protocols.
  • Work with USDA to ensure that the lines are running properly and safely and GMPs are being followed.
  • Identify and resolve unauthorized, unsafe, or ineffective practices.
  • Review shift reports to understand current numbers and trends.
  • Lead warehouse improvement initiatives to advance operational efficiencies.

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift):

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in quality assurance, preferably in the food industry.
  • Must have a strong compliance mindset and be capable of leading adherence to the company’s standard operating procedures.
  • Must possess knowledge of food safety and good manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift and cover off shifts when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education requirements:

  • High school diploma with relevant years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Science is required.
