Our client is a well-established manufacturer of high-quality plastics and polymers. They are currently seeking an R & D Chemist to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$70k – $80k DOE

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an R & D Chemist who is eager to grow and bring fresh energy to the team. The R&D Chemist role will provide the candidate with an opportunity to contribute towards the development of new compounds in R&D.

Responsibilities of the R & D Chemist:

  • Generate ideas for new product development of compounds and research feasibility in terms of profitability, resource availability, and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that all tests are performed with accuracy, completeness, and in compliance with established standards
  • Attend internal production trials to ensure new formulation samples are made as being designed for
  • Responsible for developing and issuing new formulations for new compounds based on requirements and specifications from customers and market demands
  • Analyze compounds and record data, including competitors when needed, to determine physical and chemical properties for development of compounds
  • Communicate internally with various departments for R&D-related issue such as pilot line schedule, product development progress, and R&D new production trial plan

Qualifications of the R & D Chemist:

  • Must have experience with lab devices needed for formulations
  • Expertise in chemistry, understanding surface-interface properties, and surface characterization is ideal
  • Experience with plastics or polymers is preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field
