R&D Testing Assistant

Our client is an established brand name consumer goods company that serves consumers through a variety of product lines. They are currently seeking an R&D Testing Assistant to join their team. The company prides itself on being successful but and a leader in market innovation and forward movement. The R&D site has a positive and professional atmosphere. 

Salary/ Hourly Rate:

$18/hr – $20/hr

Position Overview:

The lab is hiring a R&D Testing Assistant to support senior scientists in developing new and adjusting existing products. The R&D Testing Assistant will be trained but will need to be a quick learner to pick up on the wide variety of testing that is done on highly regulated products. This is a very team-oriented role that would require strong communication and people skills. The contract is 6 months with the opportunity for extension.

Responsibilities of the R&D Testing Assistant:

• Setting up and running experiments in the lab with wet chemicals and using specific instrumentation to analyze samples
• Managing and conducting stability testing
• Calibrating lab instrumentation, cleaning instrumentation, and troubleshooting minor issues that arise
• Creating batches of product for various types of tests based on the current project need
• Clearly communicating results and updates to senior staff
• Color matching and adjustments
• Maintaining very organized and neat records
• Supporting the Development team with a positive, friendly attitude

Qualifications of the R&D Testing Assistant:

• Lab-based academic research, internships or co-ops are preferred but not required
• A positive energy and enthusiasm for lab work, strong communication skills
• A passion for working hard and being an active team member
• Microsoft Office experience including basic Excel and Word

Education Requirements:

• Education not needed if one has work experience in a lab setting or in quality inspection
• Lab Tech Certification also accepted
• Without experience, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering/etc. is needed
