Salary/Hourly Rate:

$47/hr – $53/hr Depending upon experience and other factors

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse who is capable of taking patient vitals, acting as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians, troubleshooting, and more. The Registered Nurse will be required to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse:

  • Responsible for assisting the physician and staff while coordinating patient care and physician access
  • Functions as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians
  • Adheres to the SMG policy while delivering direct patient care
  • According to the departmental guidelines, collects lab specimens and labels specimens accurately
  • Maintains efficient patient flow and prioritizes patient care, by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures
  • Prepares for patients visits and pertinent information needed for the visit
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates with the office regarding concerns, issues, or problems
  • Identifies all patients correctly prior to documenting or providing any type of care
  • Employs appropriate and timely use of tasking in EHR
  • Obtains patients vitals signs including, but not limited to, BP, temperature, and pulse
  • Administers injections and documents in EHR and according to appropriate protocol
  • Schedules appointments accordingly and enters scheduled appointments in the practice management system (PMS) and EHR
  • Adheres and promotes universal safety precautions when administering all medications and disposal of medical waste
  • Updates and reviews medication list and allergies in EHR
  • Understands prescription control and prescription refill procedures
  • Provides referrals and/or consults orders within a timely manner in the PMS and EHR
  • Obtains logs for emergency equipment and checks
  • Organizes transition of care to UCC/hospital
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining all supplies, as needed
  • Troubleshoots and reports malfunctions within department-specific equipment immediately
  • Performs other tasks as required

Qualifications for the Registered Nurse:

  • Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed
  • Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules
  • 2 – 4 years experience is preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
  • Experience with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copy machine, scanner, email/voice Mail) is preferred
  • Experience with standard office technology, preferably Window-based technology
  • Experience with working, handling, and troubleshooting patient care equipment
  • Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary systems

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree is required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • New York State Nursing License and BLS certification are required
