Our client is a cosmetic, chemical, and consumer goods company that operates worldwide. It prides itself on its high level of quality and continuous innovation. This company has been operating successfully for over 140 years and is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager to join its ranks.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$125k – $150k

Position Overview:

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for approving cosmetic labels and ensuring compliance with the local, state, and federal requirements of the US and Canada. The Regulatory Affairs Manager will also be responsible for all regulatory paperwork. This Regulatory Affairs Manager will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Responsibilities of the Regulatory Affairs Manager:

  • Approves label copy and contributes to artwork approvals to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements (US and Canada) for the developing projects of cosmetic products
  • Assists with the development of the Cosmetics Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and ingredient disclosure requirements
  • Obtains and processes data into third-party compliance systems
  • Works closely with cross-organizational teams to ascertain product regulatory compliance and supplies regulatory documentation
  • Supports the Cosmetic Regulatory Affairs team to develop and document programs and associate processes to confirm accordance with regulations
  • Ensures compliance with Government and Non-Government Organization (NGO) certifications
  • Evaluates cosmetic raw materials, formulation, and packaging to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements (US/Canada) for new developing projects on laundry and home care products
  • Occasionally assists in established product testing and certification programs
  • Supplies safety assessment support to the Principal Toxicologist

Qualifications for the Regulatory Affairs Manager:

  • 1 to 2 years of Regulatory Affairs Manager experience in cosmetic or consumer-packaged goods is preferred. Otherwise, experience in QA or QC should suffice
  • Proficient knowledge of G-Suite including Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and working knowledge of SAP, specifically PLM
  • Expert level knowledge of Excel needed
  • Experience handling confidential data a plus
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, capable of working on various projects at a time while meeting deadlines
  • Well-grounded understanding of Chemistry
  • Exceptional written, oral, and reading comprehension skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred
