They are seeking a Research Associate to join their positive and forward-thinking culture, focused on preclinical neuroscience research. Salary/Hourly Rate:

$55k – $65k DOE

Position Overview:

The Research Associate will be responsible for rodent behavioral tests which include monitoring health throughout breeding process of rodents, dosing, pain models, research on drug liability, behavioral pharmacology assays, surgeries, preliminary data analysis, and more. The Research Associate will have the opportunity to work with a driven team of scientists who are collaborative and passionate each day.

Responsibilities of the Research Associate:

  • Breeding, treating, and assessing health of rodents (mice and rats)
  • Conducting preclinical research of pain, cognition, and other assays as needed
  • Executing rodent studies in behavioral pharmacology assays
  • Behavioral studies, preparing, and performing rodent surgeries
  • Designing, preparing, and executing experiments and rodent models
  • Preliminary experimental data analysis and creating draft study report
  • Complying with SOP, IACUC, and quality assurance protocols

Qualifications of the Research Associate:

  • Experience handling and/or breeding animals in a laboratory and behavioral setting (academic experience is OK)
  • Experienced with rodent handling
  • Professional, positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team will be necessary

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Chemistry, Animal Science, or a related field
