Our client, a fast-growing international fragrance developer, is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and creative Scent Analyst to join the team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This Scent Analyst position will require relocation to South Florida at the candidate’s expense. Please only apply if you are willing to do so!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$70k – $90k Depending on experience
Position Overview:
The ideal Scent Analyst will possess strong olfactive skills, a creative mindset, and a deep understanding of the fragrance market. As a Scent Analyst, you will guide perfumers through the fragrance development process, working from existing portfolios while also contributing fresh ideas for new projects.
Responsibilities of the Scent Analyst:
- Serve as a guide to perfumers during the fragrance development process.
- The Scent Analyst will work with both existing fragrance portfolios and new concepts to meet project goals.
- Stay informed about cross-category beauty markets, current and future olfactory trends, and consumer preferences.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of perfumery ingredients and various fragrance markets, including Fine Fragrance, Personal Care, and Air Care.
- Make preliminary and final fragrance selections that align with customer requirements.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the fragrance library and select appropriate fragrances for customer projects.
- Collaborate with perfumers to create innovative and winning fragrances.
- Coordinate with the Application Lab and Marketing teams to fulfill project requirements.
- Represent the corporate image at trade shows and industry events.
- Specialize in cross-category trends by tracking new launches, coordinating project meetings, and developing new ideas with perfumers.
Qualifications for the Scent Analyst:
- Strong command of English communication, both written and verbal.
- Comprehensive knowledge of perfumery ingredients and fragrance markets.
- Creative mindset with strong olfactive evaluation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred or a combination of 3 – 5 years of related experience and training.
