Salary/Hourly Rate:

$85k – $105k DOE

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant position will serve as a key financial partner within the company by performing general accounting tasks daily for the corporate general ledger. The Senior Accountant will primarily focus on all cash-related activity and assist with consolidating financial information from operating locations, providing balance sheet reconciliation, analysis assistance, delivering financial reports, and performing accounting research. This position will be expected to gain a detailed understanding of accounting policies, statement of operations accounts, and balance sheet accounts. The Senior Accountant will work independently only receiving guidance on unusual or complex problems. This position will also be expected to review reports and results with management as required.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and prepare and post all cash-related activity.
  • Supervise and review the branches’ petty cash funds and research any discrepancies or unusual items.
  • Manage and report the company’s daily cash positions and receipts information to management.
  • Analyze monthly banking fees to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Initiate wires and coordinate with the Controller / Assistant Controller on review and release of funds.
  • Project / forecast future cash flows and work with management to determine any necessary debt draws / payments.
  • Assist in the monthly financial close process by independently identifying and processing the necessary journal entries assigned, including monthly adjusting journal entries required to properly reflect the consolidation of the financial statements.
  • Review the trial balance and financial statements to ensure proper recording and classification of transactions and accounts.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement for all accounting processes, engage process design conversations, and make recommendations.
  • Perform accounting research and conduct variance analysis on financial results to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes impacting the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all internal controls are adhered to and financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures, records, and reports conform to generally accepted accounting principles (“US GAAP”).
  • Research, prepare, and execute Finance department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required.

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:

  • CPA is preferred.
  • Previous public accounting experience is strongly desired.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of accounting/finance experience is preferred.
  • Experience in corporate and consolidation accounting and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP. · Highly detail-oriented and organized in work.
  • Analytical mindset with proven ability to exercise judgment, analyze data, prepare financial reports, and present results to management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with proven ability to influence others without authority.
  • Fast learner, attention to detail, and inquisitive personality.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent proficiency with financial software tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and exposure to an enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) system, such as Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, or NAV.
  • Experience with Planning Analytics / TM1 software is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven ability to work with all levels in the organization.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Business Administration is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance is preferred.
