Senior Accountant

Our client, a reputable, Tampa community based non-profit organization who seeking a Senior Accountant professional to join their team based in Tampa, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to join a rapidly growing department in a critical role. The ideal candidate must be technically strong, collaborative, and highly organized with an ability to help improve processes.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60,000 – $75,000

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will join a recently expanded Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Controller, and primarily assisting in general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during month & year-end close. This is a critical Senior Accountant position that will oversee and manage the G/L (accruals) and payroll processing for the department

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger accounts
• Perform detailed review, analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the general ledger accounting processes and activities
• Identify, research, and track transactional processing errors
• Assist with identifying and resolving GL issues
• Ensure supervisors review and sign off on bi-weekly payroll hours for their assigned employees
• Assist in reviewing and enforcing payroll policies and developing procedures to ensure proper internal controls
• Research and resolve pay inquiries up to and including issuance of manual checks

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

• 5 years of work experience in the accounting field
• Ability to prepare monthly and year-end financial statements including all necessary accruals
• Ability to prepare annual budgets
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including advanced functions of Excel and Word, is required

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required
