Salary/ Hourly Rate:

$100k – $110k

Position Overview:

This Senior Accountant role will also have direct access to the Assistant Controller, Controller, and other members of the Senior Management team. The Senior Accountant will have the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing, unique business model with room for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Assist in monthly financial close and reporting
  • Record entries and perform reconciliations for various accounting related close tasks
  • Assist in the financial reporting process for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in consolidation of legal entity financial statements
  • Oversee preparation process for hauler invoicing
  • Oversee the junior accounting team daily and provide guidance as needed
  • Manage hauler relationships and act as a key point contact for the hauler partners
  • Oversee daily reconciliation of all payment activities
  • Reconcile cash accounts for all three entities
  • Consistently review open and past-due AP to facilitate appropriate actions with vendors by the AP team
  • Work closely with Operations on managing and improving processes, hauler relationships, and daily reconciliations of operational activities to hauler invoices
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments (Technology, Operations, Sales, etc.)
  • Lead the M&A process for integration of accounting for various entities into the business
  • Ensure GAAP accounting is followed and subsidiaries or related parties accounting is properly recorded for acquisition purchases
  • Record entries and manage close process and accounting reconciliations for the acquired entity
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting requests
  • Manage junior accounting staff on a day-to-day basis

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:

  • At least four years of general accounting knowledge
  • Must be detail-oriented and can work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Avid Exchange, QuickBooks, and Expensify
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong phone and problem resolution skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Certified Public Accountant license is preferred
  • Passion for building relationships
  • Demonstrate adaptability, integrity, and professionalism

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
