A well-respected and rapidly-growing ecommerce company located in Connecticut is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100,000 – $120,000

Position Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the successful delivery of master data end-to-end processes and solutions supporting in-scope initiatives within their master data domain. This includes the implementation of data quality, access, and compliance controls and enabling transparency and traceability across systems and processes.

Responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst:

  • Provide expertise on master data sourcing and processing within respective domain (Vendor, Customer, Finance)
  • Assist in the formation, operationalizing, and execution of data governance framework, policy, standards
  • Provide oversight and solutioning to ensure successful delivery of end-to-end processes related to the creation, maintenance, and management of master data into a reliable system of truth
  • Harmonize master data and processes across diverse business units into a single integrated instance
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, relevant and streamlined delivery of solutions which are of high quality and operational effectiveness
  • Analyze and synthesize information provided by stakeholders
  • Provide thought leadership and participate across all upstream and downstream data flows and processes
  • Work with architects and developers to develop integrated processes and technology solutions and ensure solution alignment with requirements and design
  • Design end-to-end business processes & data pipelines, including interim legacy and hybrid solutions
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, transparency, harmonization, and consistency of master data across all consuming processes and systems
  • Detects gaps and provides resolutions for the data flow operation process to safeguard that internal processes are effective, well documented and diminish the risk of errors
  • Defining and managing data quality monitoring and remediation process
  • Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with business owners and IT
  • Gather functional requirements and define rules/standards for object creation, quality reporting, remediation processes, harmonization, reporting metrics
  • Ensure traceability and quality of migrated data in compliance with data quality standards and R&C requirements and completion of related documentation
  • Define and execute detailed test cases considering end-to-end processes and data quality
  • Drive deployment of solutions, processes, and assist with training
  • Active engagement through all phases of the SDLC including requirements, design, build, data migration, testing, and deployment; mitigate issues as they arise
  • Creating and disseminating data management and governance communications
  • Maintenance of data governance documentation deliverables
  • Business Glossary – Business definitions with input from cross-functional and cross-brand stakeholders
  • Data Catalog – Field metadata, data quality rules for KDEs across all end-to-end systems so that data is complete and accurate
  • Data Flow – “as-is” & “to-be” end-to-end data flow, including interim legacy / hybrid solutions
  • Lineage – Transformations, mapping, and aggregations, harmonization details
  • Policies – Handling of master data

Qualifications for the Senior Business Analyst:

  • 5+ years business analysis experience in data related projects Solid knowledge of Master Data Management principles and processes
  • Deep expertise in process management, design, and data management solutioning
  • Working knowledge of process and data harmonization practices
  • Strong understanding of data quality tools and techniques
  • Superior knowledge of SAP master data and integrating legacy data into a shared SAP instance
  • Experience implementing MDM tools and solutioning
  • Ability to provide leadership to drive delivery against an aggressive timeline while prioritizing quality
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Business acumen and credibility to help stakeholders adopt best practices and proactively identify and address process and data issues
  • Ability to break down complex problems into components, conduct root cause analysis, and establish a resolution plan
