Our client, one of the world’s largest investment management firms, headquartered in Boston, MA, is seeking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$155k + Generous bonus, profit sharing, and benefits

Position Overview:

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in the enhancement of existing data platforms and creation new data solutions for the firm’s most important business priorities.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer:

  • Work alongside investment professionals and development resources to create and enhance next-generation data tools for predictive analytics and decision making
  • Enhance existing data systems and BI platforms
  • Provide data management services and solutions to investment professionals within the organization
  • Play a key role in the migration of data solutions and applications to cloud based infrastructure
  • Work with other developers, both onsite and offshore, to provide mentorship and code review

Qualifications for the Senior Data Engineer:

  • 6 – 8 years of experience developing applications with Python, C# and/or Java
  • Experience creating large and complex data architecture
  • Experience with databases, data transformation, and data storage
  • Experience working with serverless cloud data technologies such as Redshift or Snowflake
  • Experience creating streaming data pipelines with Kafka is a big plus
  • Proficiency with web scraping techniques
  • Extensive experience with SQL database systems

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required
  • Master’s degree is preferred
