We are looking for a Senior Supply and Demand Analyst to lead a detailed review process to obtain and challenge forecast inputs by carefully mixing statistical optimization from the Demand Works Smoothie software tool, syndicated data, POS data, promotional volume planning, and market intelligence from our sales teams, customers, and benchmark historical trends.

Position Overview:

The demand planning process owns a shared goal of customer service fulfilment, a goal in reducing inventory/working capital, and a goal of reduction of distressed inventory through minimizing forecast variability for make to stock product. The Senior Supply and Demand Analyst will partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Planning to gather inputs to build the consensus driven demand plan through the S&OP process. The candidate owns the monthly integrated business planning (IBP) consensus review process. Responsibilities of the Senior Demand and Supply Analyst:

  • Create and maintain monthly SKU shipment forecasts for all finished goods
  • Execute changes based on accuracy analysis and other driving factors including history, trends, limited time offerings, and promotions
  • Works the forecast error issues to drive alignment of supply to prevent distress product creation
  • Share ownership in company case fill service level performance
  • Creates SKU rationalization recommendations
  • Build and adjust sophisticated data-driven forecast models for all SKU’s within the customer – distribution centers (DC) and maintain the demand forecast input
  • Works cross functionally to develop transition strategy and forecasts during product phasing including new product introductions, end of life and conversions
  • Perform forecast accuracy analysis – Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly. Document and analyze key drivers of forecast accuracy variances
  • Ensure the alignment of that all Supply Chain rules/ forecasting master data are maintained and updated correctly on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Prepare and lead monthly S&OP consensus, supply, and planning meetings (with manufacturing, as well as business and Supply Chain management) with the responsibility to reach consensus on the 1–12-month Supply/Demand/Inventory plan consistent with business strategy
  • Provide analysis, information, and recommendations to optimize assigned area while enabling business objectives, including ‘what-if’ scenarios for varying options
  • Manage the annual bottom-up planning process including active support and analysis for key strategic customers as well as providing ongoing feedback and presentation of customer plans and corporate risks and opportunities
  • Drive the analysis and summarize the results of all data pertinent to creating and explaining the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions and new and lost business) for monthly S&OP process review
  • Play a lead role in the annual planning / budget process by providing finance and supply planning with timely and accurate baseline projections and incorporating new business plans
  • Measure, analyze, and report key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Extend over time the appropriate mix of new planning metrics

Qualifications for the Senior Demand and Supply Analyst:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and experience with large data sets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Access a plus
  • APICS Certification a plus
  • IBF Certification a plus
  • Experience with Demand Works Smoothie or other demand planning software systems (i.e., Logility, SAP, JDA, Oracle Demanta, or John Galt)Supply planning knowledge of ERP Sage a plus
  • Experience in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) or Integrated Business Planning processes preferred
  • Technical experience building and manipulating forecasting models
  • Experience with forecasting a complex network business model
  • Experience in building demand planning budgets, quarterly, yearly, and rolling
  • Experience with new product stage gate processes and/or sales automation and
  • Understanding of syndicated data systems, POS data systems, and reporting methodologies
  • Understands Margin analysis in relationship to SKU rationalization

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • MBA is a plus
