Our client is seeking a full time Senior Investments Accountant to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 85,000 – 95,000

Position Overview: The Senior Investments Accountant will be responsible for regulatory reporting and accounting for the bank’s investments.

Responsibilities of the Senior Investments Accountant:

  • Assist in the preparation, review and submission of bank regulatory reports (Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC)
  • Responsible for accounting for investment securities (MBS, Corporates, Munis, Equity, and U.S. Government) and borrowings portfolios and maintaining the general ledger for several subsidiaries
  • Responsible for analyzing balance sheet and income statement trends and variances
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Assist with projects associated with a fast-paced and growing financial institution

Qualifications for the Senior Investments Accountant:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the banking industry (credit union also applicable)
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment associated with the U.S. banking industry as well as the reports provided to the bank’s regulators
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures associated with investment securities
  • Experience in preparing bank, general ledger, and off-balance sheet account reconciliations, and researching and clearing reconciling items
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products, primarily Excel, and its analytical, formula, and financial functions (specifically V-Look-ups, Pivot Tables and Sum If formulas)
  • Proficiency with a financial service related general ledger and investment portfolio systems
  • Strong research, analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to create ad-hoc reports from the bank’s general ledger, investment portfolio, core and data repository systems
  • Attention to detail, control oriented and time management skills are essential
