Our client is an industry-leading financial services company located in Philadelphia, PA. They are looking to add a Senior Network Engineer to their team.

Position Overview:

This Senior Network Engineer will work as part of a team that is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting all network, firewall, DNS, production services & all data center related activities for this smaller, highly respected financial services firm.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer:

  • Create designs to project / task requirements utilizing proven, best-practice technologies and solutions.
  • Perform implementation and troubleshooting of the connectivity architecture to address identified deficiencies and enhance the company’s strategic direction.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure firewall configurations to supplement new technologies and project initiatives in conjunction with other technology teams.
  • Prepare technical subject matter presentations for management.
  • Maintain effective relationships with vendors, consultants, and coworkers.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and product platforms regarding business drivers, infrastructure performance, and scalability assessments.

Qualifications of the Senior Network Engineer:

  • 5 plus years of experience working as a Network Engineer within an mid-sized or enterprise environment.
  • CCNA and CCNP Certification is preferred.
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking design and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience of layer 3 protocols, such as HSRP, ARP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Hands-on experience of layer 2 technologies including (Rapid) Spanning Tree Protocol, LACP, and HDLC.
  • Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP addressing and sub-netting.
  • Strong understanding of firewall logic including Network / Port Address Translations (NAT / PAT), Site-to-Site VPNs, and remote-access VPNs.
  • Conceptual understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) theory and SD-WAN.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
