Client Overview:

Our client, a Utility Company that services the NYC Metro area is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Up to $75/hr

Position Overview:

As the Senior Systems Administrator you will be working with and supporting Windows Server/desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services. This is a field support Senior Systems Administrator position and may include overtime. This is a one year plus consulting position.

Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Administrator:

  • Work with various computing platforms from services, networks, storage including scripting experience for automation
  • Lift/Transport service equipment when needed
  • Provide off-hour, on-call support for workstation, server and other systems related issues that requires travel to various supported sites
  • Willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work that must be done either prior to or after normal business hours
  • Should have the means and be able to travel to various company locations

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Administrator:

  • Windows Server/desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services
  • Understanding of server and various storage RAID configuration
  • Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup
  • Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall
  • Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption
  • Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks
  • Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts
  • Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data
  • Patch and firmware installation and management
  • Strong customer service mindset, providing plus-1 end user support experience, well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with safety mind set

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology with a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT Support is required
