Our client is a leading biotech company located in the Greater Boston area. They are currently seeking a Sourcing and Contracting Manager to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$34/hr – $42/hr

Position Overview:

The Sourcing and Contracting Manager will be responsible for tracking reports of day-to-day contracts and trends to see where process improvements can be made. The Sourcing and Contracting Manager will manage and guide companywide systems, train and ensure adherence to best practices across the organization, and support sourcing initiatives. The Sourcing and Contracting Manager would be a temporary position, to be reviewed after the initial 6 months, with the potential to be extended or become permanent.

Responsibilities of the Sourcing and Contracting Manager:

  • Act as main point of contact on all contracts for internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Assist in drafting and executing all agreement types and work cross-functionally with Legal, Strategic Sourcing, and Procurement teams
  • Educate and train on all contract procedures, manage and maintain templates, forms, and supporting documents
  • Perform and help facilitate ‘Requests for Proposals,’ obtaining quotes and bids whilst following internal guidelines
  • Assist in the negotiation and execution on agreements
  • Support process improvement initiations by performing spend analysis and research
  • Support Accounting and Finance teams with regard to business operations and budgeting guidelines&

Qualifications of the Sourcing and Contracting Manager:

  • 2 – 5+ years of work experience in a procurement role with insight into contract negotiations
  • Experience with procurement contracts preferably in a highly regulated environment and or similar to healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotechnology
  • Comfortable navigating and learning new technologies and systems
  • Understand basis technical project management
  • Experience delivering training and communication guidelines and expectations to multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written skills and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow
  • Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, activities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident in dealing with all internal and external staff level
  • Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to be considered. Whilst this is a completely remote role, travel to bi-annual ‘all-in’ meetings in person in Boston may be required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or equivalent is preferred
