Our client, a large construction company, is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. Our client is a leader in their industry and has been servicing the Tampa Bay area for 50 years.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65-75k

Position Overview:

The primary role of the Staff Accountant will be accurately recording, analyzing, and reporting the day-to-day business transactions of the client. They will report directly to the Corporate Controller and be provided with a great opportunity to learn and train under an experienced industry professional.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Reconcile and support monthly trial balance, including preparation of WIP
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Post monthly project allocations
  • Reconcile quarterly payroll tax returns
  • Assist with annual property & casualty audits
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget
  • Assist with semi-annual audit
  • Assist with internal audits as necessary
  • Preparation and filing of sales/use tax returns
  • Reconcile company credit accounts
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant:

  • 2-4 years of accounting related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Experience with Sage 300, ADP, or Procore is preferred but not required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an accounting related discipline
