Our client, specialized in providing retirement products and related services to organizations and their employees, as well as individuals, for over 70 years. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80,000 – $90,000
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the overall maintenance of Account Positions in OMNI Trade. Perform appropriate review, research and reconciliation and control procedures to safeguard the investments. The Staff Accountant handles routine accounting activities and provides support and active participation in various projects.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Review the Position Daily Summary screen to determine if there are Position Accounts with Recordkeeper and Broker that are “Out of Balance”
- Ensure timely receipt of financial activities feed from Recordkeeping and Broker
- Perform research for Position Accounts that are out of balance and determine the cause
- Track Reconciling Item and document the steps taken to resolve the issue and identify appropriate solutions for potential problems by analyzing account data and communicating to various business areas
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of NAV Fund Balances maintained in Recordkeeping, OMNI Trade, and Broker Positions to the General Ledger
- Prepare monthly reporting and make sure that it is appropriately scheduled to ensure the timely distribution of these results and present it to management
- Validate data completeness and accuracy by reviewing data
- Develop and ensure financial controls are in proper place and making sure that all the relevant reports are accurate and compliant with the required standards, rules, and regulations
- Create various journal entries to record financial components affecting the NAV Fund Balances as required
- Analyze data to identify trends and develop metrics to continual improve and optimize process going forward
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Knowledge of General Ledgers, Journals, Accruals and Reconciliation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
- Working knowledge of FIS-OMNI systems and/or Trade application and investments are a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
