Our client in the travel, hotel, and tourism industry located in Brockton, MA is seeking a junior Staff Accountant to join their growing team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65k – $70k

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant with 1 – 3 years of experience in an Accounting role, and looking for candidates open to working onsite in the South Shore area! The Staff Accountant will support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. They will analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Weekly banking / posting
  • Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
  • Enter financial transactions into internal accounting software (M3)
  • GL transaction posting / analysis

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:

  • 1 – 3 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong general ledger knowledge
  • Strong financial statement posting and analysis knowledge
  • Strong bank transaction posting / reconcilement knowledge
  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar field is required
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted
