STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing industry helping companies develop consumer products goods across the country and world. They are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join their growing Accounting Department.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$50,000 – $60,000/year

Position Overview:

Primary duties of the Staff Accountant will be to work on a variety of core accounting activities essential to running the business. This Staff Accountant will also perform any duties normally associated with this position that are not expressly outlined here, and any other activities that will contribute to the growth of the organization.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Collaborate on the monthly and year-end close
  • Prepare schedules for specific general ledger accounts
  • Analyze and reconcile specified balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile AP, AR, cash disbursements and receipts processes against general ledger
  • Process and post journal entries for routine invoices in ERP, and other transactions
  • Manage various aspects of business unit accounts receivable, cash receipts and banking, including the review of supporting documentation
  • Manage payments to vendors via checks, wires, ACH and others
  • Perform collection calls for overdue receivable invoices, as necessary
  • Analyze bad debt reserve
  • Reconcile credit card statements, prepare and analyze accruals
  • Maintain the fixed assets register
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Run meetings and conduct presentations as needed

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:

  • Solid understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high degree of proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Problem solver, time management skills, self-motivated and critical attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Integrity, credibility, and commitment is key
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills is key
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
