Salary/Hourly Rate:

$50k – $55k (DOE)

Position Overview:

The Transportation Manager is responsible for training and assessing drivers and their qualifications as per local, state, and federal laws. The Transportation Manager shall coordinate with drivers, staff, and management to hold meetings to resolve issues. They will develop genuine and supportive relations with drivers in a professional manner and collaborate with other departments to provide the tools and work environment necessary for all employees to excel at their respective positions.

Responsibilities of the Transportation Manager:

  • Ensure all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations
  • Track and follow up on all incoming and outgoing domestic shipments to ensure timely deliveries at the destination
  • Manage outbound flow through network design in TMS/ WMS tracking systems
  • Provide the strategic direction in dealing with the customer so that all trucking activities are taken in concert with the client to allow both the client and the team to be successful financially
  • Assist with customer relationship management including daily interface, customer service management, issue resolution, reporting and metrics development and tracking, and overall customer satisfaction

Qualifications of the Transportation Manager:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the transportation industry
  • Must have direct exposure to carriers and transportation for continuous monitoring, negotiating, and adjust carrier contracts or agreements
  • Familiar with CDL, DOT, HOS standards
  • Familiar with federal, state, and local transportation and intermodal regulations
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred
