Our client, is one of the largest physician and patient driven healthcare organizations in the New York metropolitan area. Our client is seeking a Ultrasound Technician to join their fast-paced practice! With over 300 locations in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Central Oregon our client is seeking an individual who is committed to providing the best possible care to every patient in every neighborhood.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$39 – $45/hr
Position Overview:
The Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for promptly following safety regulations while assisting with entirety of ultrasound procedures. The Ultrasound Technician will maintain information regarding anatomy, proper patient positioning, and effective scanning techniques.
Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Technician:
- Will be a part of routine scanning’s, procedures, and applications
- Able to work independently and beside
- Physicians, maintaining a respectful and calm demeanor
- Ensures each patient is prepared for each scanning
- Obtains important patient history, previous medical scanning’s, and other important information
- Checks and verifies patient identity, maintains a log with patient information
- Assists with comfortably transferring patients to sonography table and ensuring set up secures immobilization during scanning’s
- Utilizes most effective strategy to perform scanning: proper anatomical positioning, probe/frequency selection
- Educates patients on procedures, including Biopsy procedures
- Monitors any changes in patient during entirety of procedures: physical and mental statuses, and responds to any discomfort
Qualifications for the Ultrasound Technician:
- Must be familiar with and follow HIPPA compliance guidelines
- Must be able to operate a PACS system
- Must be extremely knowledgeable about anatomy, and imaging best practices
Education Requirements:
- Must maintain education requirements or additional professional licenses, as required by the state of New York
- Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, and Active Certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- One Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or (CCI) in the specialties as follows: Abdomen, OBGYN, Breast, MSK, Fetal Echo, Adult Echo, Vascular, and Pediatric
- Must be a Graduate of a formally recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
