Salary/Hourly Rate:

$125,000 – $145,000 (Dependent on experience)

Position Overview:

Newly created subsidiary of a global investment management firm is seeking a VP of Accounting to join their dynamic team.  The VP of Accounting position will report to the Corporate Controller and work on a team of three. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves team player who will address compliance issues with a creative and pragmatic approach, in addition to managing key stakeholder relationships.

VP of Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Assist Controller in all duties for the Accounting Department
  • Provide assistance on daily/monthly reporting with parent investment firm to include data on company revenue/expenses, service fee and cash/receivable/transaction reconciliations
  • Provide support with the daily reconciliation of the fund transactions and income/expense accruals
  • Aid with the timely calculation of borrowing base and review of line of credit draw amounts used for financing accounts receivable purchases
  • Assist with the processing of cash wires for payment of various fees and expenses on behalf of the operating and management company
  • Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd parties; banks, administrator, servicing entities, etc
  • Ongoing efforts to improve and initiate control processes for new and existing workflows
  • Strive to ensure all financial documents are accurate and up to date
  • Assist Controller with all reporting required for year-end financial statements of stakeholders
  • Maintain details and records on portfolio turnover, revenues, expenses, cash flow projections, payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor qualifications etc
  • Strive for process flow scalability as business evolves over time

VP of Accounting Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of fund, audit or administrator experience
  • Experience in financial services, banking or financial technology is highly preferred
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge (pivot tables, V/H/X Lookups, sums, formulas, etc.)
  • Accounting systems or ERP experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting environment interchangeably

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Master’s degree is highly preferred, but not required
  • CPA is mandatory
