Our client, one of the nation’s premier independent multispecialty medical groups is seeking a X-Ray Technologist to join their practice! Salary/Hourly Rate:

$30 – $40/hr dependent on experience and other factors

Position Overview:

The X-Ray Technologist will be responsible for operating radiologic or fluoroscopy (c-arm) equipment for diagnostic imaging, while obtaining essential information from patients, preparing them for procedures, and promoting safety for radiation protection. The X-Ray Technologist must demonstrate commitment of total quality management and the tenets of service excellence by acting in accordance with the organizational mission at all times.

Responsibilities of the X-Ray Technologist:

  • Responsible for adhering to and following physicians’ orders precisely 
  • Conforms to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure
  • Assists patients with transferring to the examination table 
  • Properly identifies patient identification on the study and routes it to PACS
  • Ensures demographic information is placed in the reading room for interpretation
  • Efficiently operates radiologic or fluoroscopy (c-arm) equipment for diagnostic quality imaging and monitors any physical or mental changes in the patient throughout the procedure
  • Obtains all essential information from patients, including,, but not limited to, previous scans for clinical correlation and medical records
  • Prepares and educates patients regarding radiologic procedures, whilst providing patient care with respect and dignity
  • Obtains optimum quality images through the employment of proper anatomical positioning, radiologic techniques, and other required techniques in accordance with the protocols designed by the radiologists
  • Promotes safety and cleanliness procedures/protocols to include radiation protection and universal precautions
  • Carries out quality checks on equipment, and is responsible for reporting any problems to proper personnel
  • Understands the emergency drug use, equipment location, bookings, scheduling, duplications, and PACS system
  • Processes studies onto CD or Film format for patient study requests whilst maintaining proper HIPPA compliance
  • Operates Bone Density Systems and analyzes patient data for radiologist interpretation

Qualifications for the X-Ray Technologist:

  • Ability to maintain a great knowledge in human anatomy and cross section anatomy, proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization of protocols and imaging techniques
  • Great knowledge with a variety of routine procedures and applications
  • Maintaining superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with standardized procedures
  • Excellent patient and communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification with BD modality
  • Ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses required by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Protection and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification with BD modality
