Cost Accountant

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$90,000

Position Overview:

Our client are in the process of searching for a Cost Accountant to be part of their growing team. The individual will be responsible for generating cost accounting data and related analytic reports with precision and promptness. The Cost Accountant will also guarantee the reconciliation of various accounts alongside investigating and seeking solutions for issues and inquiries within the business unit.

Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:

• Prepares and analyzes monthly/quarterly/year-end cost accounting closing, and financial reporting information
• Responsible for accurate product costing and standard cost reporting
• Assists in the preparation of annual standard revaluation
• Works with various departments to maintain, analyze, and optimize all data
• Maintains detailed records of all plant related inventories
• Reconciliation of raw material, work in process and finished goods accounts
• Works with production and purchasing to develop and setup annual standard costs and labor and over rates for products
• Coordinates on cost metrics with plant management to drive cost improvements
• Mentor other accounting staff as applicable
• Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor
• Manages the internal invoicing process
• Assists with Controller on physical inventory
• Assists in Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) inputting of data from the trial balance

Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:

• 3 years of minimum related experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple activities at same time
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
