Our client is a manufacturer of personal care and consumer goods. The company adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) including FDA guidelines and operates at a rapid pace to develop products distributed globally. They are seeking a Junior Chemist to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20 – $22/hr

Position Overview:

The Junior Chemist for R&D will support senior scientists in developing new and adjusting existing products. The Junior Chemist for R&D will perform tests according to SOPs and will need to be a quick learner to pick up on the wide variety of testing that is done on highly regulated products.

Responsibilities of the Junior Chemist:

  • Setting up and running experiments in the lab with wet chemicals and using specific instrumentation to analyze samples
  • Managing and conducting stability testing
  • Calibrating lab instrumentation, cleaning instrumentation and troubleshooting minor issues that arise
  • Creating batches of product for various types of test based on the current project need
  • Set up, calibrate and maintain lab equipment
  • Enter testing data into the company’s software and utilize industry specific software programs
  • Assist with lab specific programs and raw material inventory

Qualifications for the Junior Chemist:

  • Research, Co-Op or Professional experience performing wet or instrumental chemistry hands on is preferred but not required
  • Clear and direct communication skills as well as professional social skills
  • Desire to solve problems and create efficiency in chemistry

Education Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biology or the sciences is required
