Our client is an established retailer specializing in home furnishings. They are looking to bring on a talented Merchandise Assistant to help with day-to-day data entry needs.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr

Position Overview:

The Merchandise Assistant will be working closely with the Merchandising and Buying teams. The Merchandise Assistant role includes creating and monitoring purchase orders, assisting with the creation and distribution of weekly sales reports, and more. This role requires organization, strong Excel skills, the ability to pick up on new systems, and communication with all cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities of the Merchandise Assistant:

  • Take charge of the purchase order lifecycle
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting and sales analysis
  • Detailed order entry
  • Display strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (utilizing functions such as vlookups and pivot tables)
  • Communicate regularly with vendors
  • Track shipments, deliveries and transfers, discrepancies
  • Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through communication directly with the buyer, Merchant teams, and external vendors

Qualifications for the Merchandise Assistant:

  • Proficient in Excel (vlookups and pivot tables)
  • Experience within a retail or fashion role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
