Our valued client, a global leader within the manufacturing industry is seeking a Accounting Manager to join their team based in Largo, FL. This is an incredible opportunity to be involved in a highly visible position while leading a department of five. The Accounting Manager must be technically strong, possess a strong understanding of US GAAP and work cross functionally with both financial and non-financial personnel.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$105k – $120k
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will be reporting directly to the Controller and primarily assisting in general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during month close. This position will serve as a lead on all financial close activities, supported by an existing staff who aids in the day-to-day responsibilities. The Accounting Manager will serve as a significant figure in the accounting process and leader in all accounting inquiries.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis.
- Managing all general ledger accounting and reconciliation, as well as financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
- Compiling and analyzing financial information for business unit to determine standard costs, perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs.
- Assisting in financial planning and budgeting processes, budget vs actual.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on inventory valuation and production costs.
- Analyzing data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed.
- Identifying and communicating useful information to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company.
- Providing ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Communicating with colleagues at various business units to resolve issues, advise on discrepancies and follow through with appropriate action.
- Implementing changes which will result in process improvement, create standard operating procedures and effectiveness.
- Supporting external audit procedures.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
- Minimum of 2+ years within a supervisory or management capacity.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel (pivot tables, V/H/X LOOKUPs, formulas, sum if, etc.).
- MS Dynamics Business Central, OneStream and/or ERP knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication with the understanding you will work cross functionally (various business units).
- Must be able to make independent decisions on routine office activities and delegate when necessary.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree.
