Client Overview:

Our client is a brand dedicated to blending contemporary style with quality craftsmanship. Their focus is on creating high-quality, functional apparel that resonates with fashion-forward individuals. They are looking to add an Associate Designer to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$28/hr – $32/hr Commensurate with experience

Position Overview:

This Associate Designer role is pivotal in assisting the design team with the development of our apparel lines, ensuring that each piece aligns with our brand’s aesthetic and quality standards. The Associate Designer will collaborate with the design team to develop seasonal concepts and styles that align with the brand vision and market trends.

Responsibilities of the Associate Designer:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, fabrics, trims, and silhouettes.
  • Create detailed technical sketches and tech packs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Manage and update line sheets, ensuring accuracy in style details, colors, and fabrics.
  • Participate in fittings, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to prototypes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production and technical design, to ensure design feasibility and adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain organized records of design materials, samples, and communications with vendors.

Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Designer:

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in fashion design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, and technical design.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Associate Designer:

  • Experience with PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of current trends in apparel and streetwear.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers and understanding of production processes.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field is required.
