They are looking to expand their team by bringing on a detail-oriented and proactive Freelance Product Development Associate.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$28/hr – $32/hr

Position Overview:

The Freelance Product Development Associate will support the end-to-end process of bringing new products to market. This role will assist in concept development, product design, sample coordination, vendor communication, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate for the Freelance Product Development Associate role is organized, resourceful, and passionate about product innovation and execution.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Product Development Associate:

• Assist in the development and execution of new product ideas from concept to launch.
• Conduct market and trend research to support innovation and competitive positioning.
• Help manage timelines, product specifications, and sampling processes to ensure key milestones are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Sourcing, Marketing, and Operations.
• Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding product samples, materials, and technical requirements.
• Track product development progress using internal tools and systems, ensuring accurate documentation and data entry.
• Support the preparation of presentations, sample reviews, and line-planning meetings.

Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Product Development Associate:

• At least 2 years of experience in product development, merchandising, or a similar role (internships included).
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Product Development Associate:

• Familiarity with PLM systems.

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, Fashion, or a related field is required.
