Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented temporary Product Safety and Compliance Associate to oversee product safety, compliance, and labeling processes for all of our consumer brands. In this temp-to-perm role, you will partner with sourcing leadership, legal counsel, and third-party labs to drive timely safety investigations, update manuals, and ensure seamless communication across internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Product Safety and Compliance Associate:

  • Serve as primary liaison for product safety inquiries, coordinating with legal, sourcing, and store inspection teams on safety investigations and recalls.
  • Manage “locked” inventory communications and issue penalty chargebacks when safety standards are not met.
  • Develop and maintain the Product Safety Manual, updating procedures and training materials in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Prepare quarterly leadership presentations on product safety metrics, trends, and action plans.
  • Track and report safety incidents, store agent tickets, customer service alerts, and lab test results through Quality platforms.
  • Coordinate seasonal safety reviews: set guidelines, schedule meetings, and implement review processes with calendar and merchandising teams.
  • Liaise with nominated labs (e.g., Intertek, Bureau Veritas) to arrange sample shipments, oversee testing, validate invoices, and manage service.

Required Experience/Skills for the Product Safety and Compliance Associate:

  • 3 – 5 years in product safety, quality assurance, or compliance within a retail or sourcing environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, recall procedures, and compliance testing protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating with Legal, Sourcing, and Store Operations.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain process documentation and training materials.
  • Proficiency with ticketing/reporting systems (e.g., Pega), MS PowerPoint, and data-tracking tools.

Preferred Experience/Skills Product Safety and Compliance Associate:

  • Prior experience managing lab relationships and third-party testing programs.
  • Familiarity with vendor portals or PLM systems for manual and guide revisions.
  • Background in consumer goods product labeling and technical specification management.
  • Exposure to customer-facing safety alerts and online review monitoring platforms.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering.
