Client Overview:

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional with a passion for detail and a background in manufacturing accounting? We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client’s team, where they specialize in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics for multiple industries throughout the US and Canada.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$23/hr – $28/hr

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with a strong background in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires a thorough understanding of manufacturing operations and the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure financial accuracy.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Accurately review, verify, and process invoices and payment requests promptly.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments, and ensure all vendor accounts are up to date.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable transactions, 3-way match, vendor statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Review and process employee expense reports following company policies.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Generate accounts payable reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Procurement, Production, and Finance, to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial reporting.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience processing 150+ invoices a day.
  • ERP system experience in SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or PeopleSoft.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or higher is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
