Client Overview:
Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in New Jersey, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic Accounting team. This company is rapidly growing and looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr
Position Overview:
As the Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of accounting experience and have a solid understanding of accounting principles, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries related to manufacturing operations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze and monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and variances.
- Maintain fixed asset records.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- 1 – 4 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Experience in manufacturing/industrial industries.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory systems.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
