Client Overview:

Our client, who works with federally funded programs, is looking for a Construction Manager to join the team on a long-term contract.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60/hr

Position Overview:

The Construction Manager will oversee the entire process, starting with inspection throughout completion. They will conduct on-site evaluations, examine damage, and oversee the processes of repairs, rebuilding, and construction projects. 

Responsibilities of the Construction Manager:

  • Carry out on-site evaluations to determine the extent and cost of repairable damage, ensuring these are incorporated into the project’s defined budget. 
  •  Facilitate initial site walks and pre-construction discussions with contractors and homeowners involved in housing renewal, reconstruction, and replacement initiatives. 
  • Examine and interpret previous damage assessments, repair history, and cost estimation reports for any necessary repair work 
  • Oversee inspections throughout ongoing construction to confirm adherence to the approved plan/s. 
  • Formulate independent cost projections, assess contractor modification requests, and maintain adherence to established quality and cost-effectiveness standards. 
  • Engage with local building authorities, municipal entities, and key parties to uphold all requirements for inspections and compliance with local building codes. 
  • Attend weekly virtual team meetings.

Required Experience/Skills for the Construction Manager:

  • Must have experience using Xactimate.  
  • Background in construction management or insurance adjustment.
  • Microsoft Outlook/Teams proficiency. 
  • The Construction Manager will be managing their schedule, and self-motivation is critical for this role.
  • Proficiency with NJ State construction practices. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
