Salary/Hourly Rate:

$30/hr – $35/hr

Position Overview:

This role focuses on developing elevated, trend-driven denim styles that align with the brand’s creative direction and resonate with today’s modern consumer. The ideal candidate has a strong design sensibility, expert knowledge of denim construction, washes, and treatments, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Temporary Women’s Denim Designer:

  • Design innovative and trend-forward women’s denim styles across multiple categories (jeans, jackets, skirts, etc.).
  • Research and interpret seasonal trends, washes, and fabric developments to create compelling collections.
  • Create detailed technical flats and presentation boards.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development and Technical Design teams from concept through final sample.
  • Select fabrics, trims, and washes that align with the brand identity and market positioning.
  • Attend fittings and provide input on design and fit corrections.
  • Maintain accurate and updated design documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Experience/Skills for the Temporary Women’s Denim Designer:

  • 5+ years of women’s denim design experience in a contemporary or lifestyle brand.
  • Strong understanding of denim fabrications, washes, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional sketching and CAD skills.
  • Ability to interpret trend direction into brand-appropriate designs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temporary Women’s Denim Designer:

  • Experience working with overseas vendors and an understanding of the development process.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems and line planning tools.
  • Background in sustainable denim practices or materials is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design is required.
