Client Overview:
Our client is a research institution located in Providence, Rhode Island, known for its rigorous, innovative research and commitment to inclusive education. They are looking to add a Contract Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$34/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support the review, drafting, routing, and execution of IT-related contracts. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure contract accuracy, compliance, and timely processing in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities of the Contract Specialist:
- Review and approve incoming requests for IT-related goods and services.
- Draft and enter contracts into the contract management system.
- Route contracts for internal and external review and signature via DocuSign.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure legal and procurement compliance.
- Manage a high volume of contracts with accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Experience/Skills for the Contract Specialist:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in contracts or legal document management.
- Experience working with IT or technical contracts.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word (especially Track Changes for redlining).
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Contract Specialist:
- Familiarity with Jaggaer Contracts+ (BCM).
- Legal background (law firm, paralegal, or legal secretary experience).
- Paralegal certification or relevant training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and support contract negotiations.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
