Our client is a leading clinical laboratory specializing in molecular diagnostics that has a very positive and professional work environment and fosters a diverse and collaborative Lab team. They are currently looking to add a Cytotechnologist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$35k – $45/hr Based on experience

Position Overview:

The Cytotechnologist involves advanced microscopic analysis and interpretation of cellular specimens. The Cytotechnologist role is full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours, but is open to flexible schedules (part-time, weekends, and evenings). Responsibilities of the Cytotechnologist:

  • Conduct detailed microscopic evaluations of patient biological samples using established cytological criteria.
  • Collaborate with senior cytotechnologists and pathologists to confirm findings and ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Maintain precise documentation of specimen data and test results.
  • Assist in fine needle aspiration procedures, ensuring sample adequacy and quality.
  • Monitor and meet turnaround time expectations for specimen processing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in compliance with safety and procedural standards.
  • Prepare high-quality cytology slides using standardized laboratory techniques.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations.
  • Participate actively in team-based workflows and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Communicate findings and updates clearly and supportively to relevant team members.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving technical or procedural issues.
  • Maintain consistent productivity and uphold high standards of accuracy and quality.

Required Experience/Skills for the Cytotechnologist:

  • Lab safety and housekeeping experience.
  • Professional communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Cytotechnologist:

  • Industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • ASCP Board Certification is preferred, but not required.

Education Requirements:

  • Cytotechnologist degree/program completion.
