Position Overview:

The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for managing the company’s employee benefits programs, with a primary focus on executing a smooth and successful annual open enrollment process. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with employees, brokers, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely benefits administration.

Responsibilities of the Benefits Administrator:

  • Plan and lead all activities related to annual open enrollment, including timelines, employee communications, system updates, and vendor coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and issues during the open enrollment period.
  • Coordinate with benefit carriers and third-party administrators to ensure accurate plan setup, data feeds, and documentation.
  • Develop and distribute clear, informative open enrollment materials and presentations to educate employees about their options and any plan changes.
  • Conduct open enrollment meetings, webinars, or one-on-one support sessions as needed.
  • Audit enrollment elections and deductions to ensure accurate payroll integration and vendor enrollment.
  • Track and report on enrollment participation and trends.
  • Assist with ACA compliance and ensure required notices (e.g., SBCs, HIPAA, COBRA) are distributed properly.
  • Support ongoing benefits administration throughout the year, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and terminations.

Required Experience/Skills for the Benefits Administrator:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration, with demonstrated experience managing open enrollment.
  • Solid understanding of employee benefits plans (medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life, disability, etc.).
  • Experience with HRIS/benefits administration platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Paycom, etc.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Benefits Administrator:

  • Knowledge of application regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
