Client Overview:
Our client, a leader in the consumer goods industry, is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their growing Finance team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr
Position Overview:
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a critical role in daily financial operations – handling collections, posting payments, and managing customer account activities. You’ll work closely with internal and external teams to ensure invoices are accurate, accounts are up-to-date, and every dollar is in the right place.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
- Process customer payments, deposits, and apply them accurately within the ERP system (INFOR).
- Post credit card transactions, prepayments, and short-payment adjustments.
- Conduct credit checks and respond to customer/vendor credit inquiries.
- Upload and manage invoice submissions via various customer portals.
- Generate and post credit memos related to pricing discrepancies and returns (RMAs).
- Review and reconcile spreadsheets with system reports to ensure data accuracy.
- Release customer orders based on prepayment and credit card terms.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers to resolve billing issues.
- Flag potential account issues or inconsistencies to management.
- Support ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related field.
- Comfortable working in ERP systems (INFOR experience is a plus).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to numerical detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Proactive mindset and willingness to solve problems independently.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
- Prior experience in the consumer goods or manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with customer portals and RMA processes.
- Experience handling credits, returns, and adjustments.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
