Financial Controller

Our client is a well-established construction client known for their excellence in the industry. They specialize in both residential and commercial construction projects and pride themselves on delivering high-quality results. Their team is now looking for a Financial Controller.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$130k

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry and proficiency with Sage Intacct and Procore software.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

• Manage all financial operations including lien waivers, AIA billing, job costing, insurance, and change orders.
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure financial integrity and accurate job costing.
• Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth and profitability.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

Required Experience/Skills for the Financial Controller:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role.
• Extensive experience in the construction industry.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct and Procore software.
• Strong understanding of lien waivers, AIA billing, job costing, insurance, and change orders.
• Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Financial Controller:

• Experience in residential and/or commercial construction.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
