Client Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing biotech pioneer in the sustainable development and production of high-quality biopolymer solutions. They are looking to add a Laboratory Technician for their Bioprocess group.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr – $25/hr (Based on relevant experience)

Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in fermentation, downstream processing, and analytical sciences. The Laboratory Technician will work alongside scientists and engineers, supporting experiments and running equipment that directly contributes to innovative biomanufacturing projects.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:

  • Support lab activities across fermentation, downstream processing, and analytical groups.
  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and laboratory equipment.
  • Accurately prepare formulations for fermentation media and downstream processes.
  • Perform sampling of bench- and pilot-scale fermenters.
  • Assist with chromatography and downstream processing workflows.
  • Support sample prep and analytical testing activities.
  • Maintain lab inventory, supplies, and records.
  • Help scientists and engineers with experiment execution and data collection.
  • Contribute to lab safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards.
  • Communicate progress and results clearly to team members.

Required Experience/Skills for the Laboratory Technician:

  • Internship, co-op, or research lab experience in fermentation, chromatography, or downstream processing is a plus.
  • Exposure to both research and production activities.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required.
