Our client is a well-established law firm specializing in matrimonial and family law. Known for its compassionate yet strategic approach, the firm prides itself on guiding clients through sensitive and complex matters with professionalism and care. Currently, they are looking to add a Legal Administrative Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k – $85k plus Bonus
Position Overview:
The Legal Administrative Assistant will provide direct support to attorneys in the matrimonial law practice area. This role requires prior experience in family or matrimonial law, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive client information with discretion.
Responsibilities of the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and correspondence related to matrimonial cases.
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and client meetings to ensure timely case progression.
- File documents electronically with state and federal courts.
- Maintain case files and discovery materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring professional and empathetic communication.
Required Experience/Skills for the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- 2+ years of legal administrative experience in matrimonial/family law.
- Proficiency with e-filing systems and court procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Experience with legal billing software.
- Fluency in Spanish (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with high-net-worth matrimonial cases.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred; legal assistant/paralegal certification a plus.
